Have you seen some of the ignorant and inappropriate twitter trends people make? Twitter is such a public and powerful tool and people may not think that TTs are a big deal but they kind of are. If anything, they’re giving the label heads reason to believe One Direction’s reputation might be in danger when all these fans are trending things about them coming out of the closet or calling them gay.

I mean, obviously, there’s nothing wrong with being gay, but it’s sending red flags to the label and management that they need to push H&L even further into the closet in order to keep One Direction’s image “squeaky clean” and family friendly (all this does is hurt H&L. Sure, they know fans support them, but it hurts their relationship because of the backlash from management who are only concerned with keeping their cash cow in line). I know a lot of fans just want to see them happy and they think they are helping by being like “Hey! We support you! Come out!” but THAT ISN’T HELPING. You are smoking them out of the closet and it’s not cool.

You want them to actually be happy? Stop drawing attention to their relationship. Having blogs dedicated to them is fine, as long as the 4th wall stays in tact and people don’t invite them into the fandom by linking them to stuff. Supporting them is fine! But do it in private. Don’t broadcast it to Twitter or try to get them to out themselves on video or whatever. Trust me, if they ever do slip up it’ll be the biggest shit storm that you wish never would have happened and it could even drive them apart, in my opinion. By exposing their relationship, you’re shining this huge light on it and putting pressure on them. Fangirl in private or on tumblr, but I think the obnoxious trending topics need to cease and desist. They are hurting the boys, not helping them.

Ugh it’s like one of their anthems imo. I used it on the fanmix I made for them like 3 weeks ago! :D
